To guarantee the quality of your products it is mandatory to execute quality checks that are appropriate for the product, at the right time during the process. From receiving of raw material, to shipping including warehouse transactions or WIP and production steps. For this purpose, our NOW Quality Assurance module ensures that quality checks are performed at the right time and in the fastest possible way, both on material reception and during the production process. The final goal of this module is to define which tests to perform and to store the values coming from them. Through our module it is possible to:
• Define what are the needed tests to monitor products’ quality;
• Define what the specific standards that these tests must respect;
• Define dynamic limits and reference values based on the item and customer on which the test is performed;
• Define the rules to automatically generate QA request on execution of related activities in the ERP system (Entry from supplier, entry from production, etc.);
• Automatically calculate the test status;
• Notify by mail in case of test failure;
• Access to test data in many places of the system in order to have always-available quality information;
• Generate a quality certificate based on the performed tests;
• Import quality data from external systems.
- Provide in production and historic traceability of quality results.
- Allow fast and immediate reaction to quality deviations at all stages.
Data storage in the system makes it possible to easily check the actual implementation of the monitoring and to carry out statistics or assessments on qualitative trends in a short time. Hence, this allows you to eliminate the paper documentation and the system updates will be immediately visible at all operational levels. The Quality Assurance module helps achieve the priority of manufacturers to optimize costs and constantly improve productivity to remain competitive.
The schema of the integration between the quality module and others ERP modules is the following (Pic.1):
This diagram illustrates that the Quality Assurance module is fully integrated with the all relevant functions of the ERP. Therefore, based on what happens in the system it can: automatically generate requests based on rules defined following the customer needs, send notifications in case of failure, produce certificates based on the test performed and provide quality information useful in other ERP process like allocation or shipping. In the following picture it is possible to see how the specifications can be defined in the system (Pic.2):
This picture shows how a test is defined. Is possible to input the specifications that must be respected (both ISO and internal): for instance, if this test is based on a sample, with any instruction on how to manage the it and information about how often the automatic creation should be managed the frequency to manage the automatic creation. The next picture shows how it is possible to define in the system the rules used to manage the automatic creation of QA request in order to alert the quality department to run some tests on certain products. (Pic.4)
Input test values, add repetitions, cancel planned tests and manage un-planned tests resulting from exceptions which can occur during the quality check phase. During this process it is always possible to see the reference and limit values. In the list it is possible to see the status of each execution and all the previously tested values (Pic.5).
The creation of the quality certificate is made by selecting among the quality documents previously defined and selecting only the tests relevant for the certificate. In addition, it is possible to manage different versions of the same certificate, including different tests according to the final application of the certificate. (Pic.6)
A detailed production history helps companies to identify the cause of the faults and also to identify the faulty products, which can easily be traced. Furthermore, the integration makes it possible to keep track of all the requests from the point of view of the control and sales department. Hence, it helps to develop improved quality in phases of design and during the production process, to better meet customer needs.
